Friday, 15th November, 2019 saw the gathering of students, filmmakers, video directors, lecturers and others in the audiovisual community at Ghana(Gh) Media School in Achimota for the annual Aputure workshop organized by Shikakope in partnership with Apstairs Media.

The workshop themed, ‘Lighting with Aputure’ started at 2:00pm and lasted for over three hours. The facilitator, Yaw Skyface and his team took all participants through a practical session of lighting situations that challenge the creativity of filmmakers.

Kwame Otchere, a partner at Apstairs Media in speaking to the media, emphasized on the need for students to have more practical opportunities to enable them have field skills and equip them for the job market. He further expressed appreciation to Aputure for deciding to support this initiative and called on other business leaders in the industry to give back to the community in similar ways.

Sarah Asibi Sina, Nii Teiko Tagoe and Lucas M. Akpalu emerged winners during the workshop and each won lighting equipment from Aputure.

In her statement to the media, Madam Shika Nornoo, owner of Shikakope promised to continue organizing this workshop annually as it does create impact and also introduce a monthly creative hangout for industry players to unwind while they discuss work and innovative ways to scale the industry.

Some of the participants expressed appreciation to the organisers for the opportunity offered them and gave an assurance that they will duly apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to advance professionalism in the industry.
